Time9 - 11 p.m.
Performer"MARDI GRAS!!" with Cerro Negro
Description Cerro Negro returns to Hawaii in February of 2010 with a new palette of sounds and songs. The Waves of Change Tour finds the band blending more musical styles and instruments from around the world to their much loved Flamenco rooted music. This year, they’ll include Peruvian, Balkan, Turkish karsilama and more to their hot rhythmic blend.. From the sweet subtlety of the Brazilian Bossa Novas to the rage of a gypsy betrayal, Cerro Negro’s music swells in the sea of emotions and transports the listener. The band continues to add instruments as well to their sound and repertoire. Besides the cajon and Spanish Guitars, watch for the Irish bodhran, Turkish “cumbus” (joom boosh), German melodica as well as electronic synth controllers for the modern dance vibe!!
